Stupid question, but who exactly owns Float Plane? I thought Float Plane was a new platform thought up by Linus, Luke, and the rest of the LMG group.  Luke is now moving from LMG to Float Plane and will be a employee, working with this employer. Who is this "employer"?

Linus is CEO and probably part owner, Luke is COO and probably part owner as well. I don't pretend to know the details so don't take that as fact.

It's not like Float Plane was out for years, has a huge user base like YouTube, that caught the attention of Google or other large companies.

I'm going to assume Luke has a stake in it as he's COO. Aside from that, I don't know much.

Then who is the Chairman?

It was in one of the WAN Shows where they talked about how due Candian Law that they can't just lend another company a space like buddies, and must follow the rules.

Pretty sure floatplane media is owned by a holding company along with LMG.

Here, I'll go find the WAN show where they said this if I can.

Edit: Well that didn't work. It doesn't help that half the WAN shows aren't even in the playlist on the channel and that the time stamps suck and miss stuff. I simply don't have the time to go back and watch the last ~2 months of WAN shows.

That's outdated and is for LMG, not Floatplane. Luke was the CTO of LMG, he "left" and became COO of Floatplane Media.

I mean huge user based as in a large company XYZ sees there is a potential with this platform ,and they have very high interest on purchasing it. And if it does happened, then Luke will be a employee for company XYZ, cause company XYZ is now owns Float Plane Media.

Those who are Float Plane members will have the Float Plane tag under their name.

He's saying it doesn't have a huge user base like youtube. It still has quite a few people (judging by people following the section, and by thread views, probbably about 3-6k conservatively), but nowhere near the literal billions of people that have visited youtube.

Watch the wan show each week and there is usually a sneak peak given into what is currently up.

As said, and is also verified by Linus, LMG and FPM are both owned by holding company. Which is owned by Luke, Linus, Yvonne and Edzel (I think). Its easier for everyone when service provider and service buyer can do business directly, without having to mess around in complicated money-making schemes of parent and daughter companies.
