It's not the plastic, it's just that gaming headsets are generally built horribly.

For $130, you could get AD700x

Apparently the G35s had a problem with breaking at that spot too, but I've had mine for almost a year and no problems. I think it all depends on how much you stretch it to get it over your ears.

never really stretched them just slid them on over my glasses and then one day i saw that there were cracks on the side and then a couple of weeks later the headphone just broke off the side when i put them down on the mouse pad O.o not even hard i like literally put them down like my hands not thrown

I agree with him 558s for such a price is a steal! I know it's plastic but I've been using them for about 2 years now and it's not broken yet. Doesn't look like it will anytime soon. I've heard they've reinforced the extender part for 558, so it should be fine. Also the sound quality is unbeatable at that price

I dunno if this has already been glazed over but if the construction quality is a big deal I wouldn't go near the g930's, they are alright headphones, but your paying for the fact that they are wireless and 7.1, not because they are build particularly well. I never had the specific problem your talking about with mine, but within a couple weeks the charging input broke into the ear cup, I got a replacement but still annoying. Plus the coating stuff on the padding got munted up pretty quick.

The 558's are probably a pretty safe choice, my 598's have been pretty solid since I got them, sound and construction quality wise. They don't feel like the most solid headphones when your holding them but they are build pretty well, but if your willing to sacrifice sound quality for build quality there are probably better choices out there.

what about the razer blackshark 2.0? metal and i like the heli look :) also read a couple of reviews they saying  it has some strong ass bass and i like bass alot but also they say it is over powering and muffles voices a bit but think that could be fixed by turning down the bass is software?

overall i think i might go with silverados but i'll sleep on it

oh yeah one major thing i forgot my head is kinda big so that may have contributed to my plastic problems xD but if for sure the 558s have been reinforcd i might get those i mean i've looked a pics of the extender part and it looks nice and beefy compared to the logitech one

Sennheiser uses plastic that's much thicker and more flexible, but if you have a big head you might find the audio-technica ATH-AD700X more comfortable.

Silverados used to be 199$ a month ago I remember. I'm gonna get those as well because I've been waiting for price drop. They're full-metal titanium and leather.

Finishing up my build...
