Upgrading to dual boot (Windows and Linux) / Windows Licensing

no, the license is linked to your mobo and will reactivate just fine, just skip all activation junk in setup

Hello guys,

I am currently working on plans to upgrade my system to a dual boot and switch to a larger SSD.  My system is currently running Windows 10 on a 120GB SSD.  The plan would involve replacing my main drive with a 500GB SSD making the system dual boot between Windows and Linux.

My main concern is about Windows licensing.  Will the licensing give me any grief if I re-install windows on a separate drive?  My license is a Windows 8 OEM license that I upgraded to 10 if that makes any difference.

Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I know what needs to be done to complete the upgrade.

Thanks!

Windows 10 Licenses are linked to your Microsoft Account, in additon the the MOBO with OEM licenses. So if you sign in with a Microsoft Account on the current install, it will be there one the new one.
