GTX 680 Top & Oc In SLI!

Empire24453

Simple question, And I know it can run however aren't 100% regards to memory.

Able to run GTX 680 top and Top card in SLI. I have the top card at the moment.

Most of you will say, Go and get an 1080 lol. My answer is I darn wish so to. If I had the money I would of got one already but nope. That being said, It's so old that I can not even find any cards oc/top.

Sli/crossfire is a waste of time and energy(power) and money.

most games wont work with sli/crossfire and in the worse case scenario they will be a shuttering laggy mess, for the Sli/Crossfire to work the game must be written to support sli and very few games support sli.

there is a reason why Nvidia and AMD are dropping support for SLI and crossfire in later stages.

Microsoft in there infinite wisdom have decided to impose a VRAM cap for games the that use DX9 o.O. May God Bless them those whoever came up with that idea.

You're looking for something that does not, has not, will not, might not or must not exist ... ... but you're always welcome to search for it.

Just buy a 1050ti or a 1060. No need to waste money on another card. SLI is a pain and most games don't support it, or support it well at all, especially not super old cards like that. I mean if you find an other 680 for like 50$ then sure but if it's more than 100 or so then don't get it.

Yes I Did With The 670. Also i said its a worse case scenario, there are games that i needed to disable sli and use only one card. Most of the time it'll be okay but you are still not your monies worth.. I Said they are dropping it off soon in the next gen not droppin off now.

Instead of wasting money SLI'ing 680's that are outdated try selling the one you already have and afford a GTX 980 Ti?

I'm thinking about the 1060 or 1070 :) And do have an 430 And 460 for backup.

Not going to be easy selling my old card! at least I still have the box

What games do you primarily play? In older games and less demanding AAA titles, SLI 680's should perform similarly to a GTX 980 or GTX 1060. But you need to make sure the games you play are either SLI compatible or can be configured to use SLI, and won't exceed 2GB of VRAM.

just about all of them that doesn't support it. SLI was good in the day but it's not the future

I do allot of big titles, Plus if I'm going to get an 165hz/250hz (2560 x 1440) monitor, need to consider an card first. I can do it on 680 if it was set to least 60hz.

Of course. Back in the day, game engines weren't as complex as they are now. But even then, I don't think SLI was meant for people looking to save a buck (despite it gaining popularity thanks to the GeForce 6600).

It may not be "the future", but it's still a good option for enthusiasts looking to push the envelope. Despite what people are saying, a healthy number of games support SLI, and that support is starting to expand now that DX12 is starting to mature and big time game engines like UE4 now natively support it. Prey, Shadow of War, and Destiny 2 all supported SLI either on launch or within a week, and PUBG now supports SLI, so I don't see it going away any time soon.
