Review on first build

Help me review this and tell me if i can change anything to make the price lower, or just for performance.

I plan on using

2 monitors in the future, 1 1440p monitor  right now

and i plan to use this for gaming.

My Fps goal for every game is 70fps+

Hmmm where to start.

• You don't need a network card. That's built into your motherboard.
• You don't need to buy thermal paste, it comes pre-installed on the cooler.

Other than that it doesn't actually look that bad. Personally I wouldn't use that case, I'd get a P300s, but it's more expensive. If you want to try and save a little more you can get a 550w PSU. The CX550M is about half the price.

One i suggest to get rid of the PCIE ethernet card. Its just unnecessary with the Z370's onboard wired connectivity. And im almost positive that theres wireless connectivity built into the Z370.

I'd suggest going 2x4gb for your RAM, as you will want Dual Channel performance out of the box.

With this caliber of a gaming pc you really should go for 16gb ram. 8gb is already becoming somewhat limiting if you have a fair amount of tabs open. For gaming 16gb should be a go to above $700-$800.

 

Skip the liquid cooler for something cheaper, like a Cryorig H7. Use that money on ram.

 

Alternatively, you may want to consider going down to an 8400 so you can get a better psu and more ram. And more ssd

Nice build, but honestly 16GB of RAM isn't that necessary unless you have tonnnnns of tabs open. I often have 40 plus tabs open across 2 browsers, on a machine that also pulls video memory from the RAM and I only have 4GB.

I've seen 6-7gb usage with around 20-30 tabs. Granted, google docs and drive use a fair bit of ram but still.

 

For gaming I definitely would recommend it. A lot of games are nearing the ceiling and some already use more than 8

I think they'll use the RAM if it's there, but they're generally fine if it's not. If you're streaming and gaming though, definitely a good thing to have. Especially if you're like my buddy (2 games running, multiple guides, and YouTube video.. He really is the fattest nerd).
