Yah I got threats from a family after I sold them a computer and they expected the mechanical harddrive to boot faster than their SSD laptop...

So I just upgraded from a i5 4460 to a 8600k and all I can say is wow!

I game at 144Hz and I didn't realize how much my i5 4460 was holding back my GTX 1070.

Before upgrading in Rainbow6 Siege I was getting about 120fps on lowest settings 1080p. With the 8600k I am getting around 250 (almost always over 200).

Guess it just shows how demanding 144hz gaming is!

takes a lot of CPU to push high framerates

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Both CPU's are always at 100% in R6.

When using my i5 4460 the GPU was only at 60% but with the 8600k its about 95%.

Yeah, I hate it when people say that the CPU doesn't have any importance in a PC. Try putting a GTX 1080 TI in a C2D machinexD.
