Is the Google Pixel 2 Worth It?

I'm getting phones for my daughters & want to know if  Google Pixel 2 Worth getting for my 2 teenage daughters, thank you!

well it is worth it! Just be sure that there wouldn't be anyone that want to use it with a wired headphone/headset (If they mind about charging while hearing music)

If you'd like to stick with android, I think you should save some money and go for a phone that is almost as good as the Pixel 2. The One Plus 5T is $100 dollars less and is very competitive with the pixel.

I love the Pixel 2. Bought an XL for me and a regular for my GF. In the past year I've had an S8, G6, 6P, and now the Pixel 2 XL and the Pixel is by far the best phone out of those. The S8 had a better screen and size but I still dont think its better overall.

oh yeah, forgot to mention that BlackBerry Motion is also cheaper than the Pixel 2. But only in UK and Canada for now

It is an interesting phone... but Google seems to have serious issues after serious issues with the device, where many (not all), issues are at a production level.

 

I mean, since the device was released, this is a list of issues that the device has or had, and these aren't one off issues, many people had them:

• No OS installed on the phone (no Android.. phone can't find the OS error) - out of the box
• Rapid rate screen burn-in
• Audio problems
• Poor camera pictures when using flash
• Touch screen not working
• Lengthy screen wake up time
• Sever blue tint shift when looking at angles
• Screen faces black smear issues
• Phone makes high-pitch whine noise and clicking
• Uneven volume between the bottom and top speakers
• and just recently: many report that the headphone adapter (any of them, from Google or third party) don't work...Google says to simply go in Safe Mode to use it. No comment on a fix as of yet.

Personally, I would wait for the Pixel 3 and wait an extra month or so, just to be sure Google fixed all their mess.

Some of the problems GoodBytes lists have been fixed or are only in the XL version. The headphone adapter not working was even only on some and Google has handed out new adapters to people as it's under warranty.

The op 5t would be my choice regardless of the price but you can't go wrong with the pixel 2 ether.

Most of the problems you outlined Google has issued Paches. as you said some issues are production level

butthe pixel 2 non xl doesn't suffer from as many issues as the xl. Some of the issues are a bit over exaggerated like the blue shift all OLED screens have some cooler shift.

I’m going to just pull a “Butthurt Priv owner” move right now and advise against it.

 

• BlackBerry’s software optimisation is pretty atrocious, with performance on all their phones so far falling well below what should be expected of their hardware (Priv in particular has awful issues).
• They have a completely locked boot loader so if you have any issues with the stock ROM you have no way to change it. 
• The Motion is a midrange phone priced pretty high, using last year’s Snapdragon 625. 
• BlackBerry’s post-launch software support has so far been terrible for all of their devices. The BlackBerry Priv launched in November 2015 (a month after Marshmallow) with Android 5.1 Lollipop, and only got an update to Marshmallow by around April 2016. This was the Priv’s first and only OS upgrade, in spite of being a $700 US retail launch price phone. DTEK50 and 60 are also stuck on Marshmallow, with the KEYOne in Nougat which it launched with and promised an update to Oreo but nothing available yet.

The only good thing I can say about BlackBerry’s Android phones is that they’re pretty damn good at releasing security patches, and have only missed out a few months here and there in the 2 years the Priv has been available. But keep in mind that if you want a BlackBerry because of its software enhancements such as the keyboard, BlackBrrry Hub etc, these are also available through the play store for other Android devices to use too.
