Tongue rings, yay or nay?

I've been hearing mixed answers about this all day today in a classroom discussion. Say someone has one, but they arent playing with it or sticking it out constantly. Do you like it, not mind, or don't like it? For guys and girls.

I personally don't like it at all. I guess some people could make it work but I'd really rather them not have it. Of course, they can do whatever they want. I have nothing against it.

I don't like them on me, whether other people have them is their own problem. I don't think any less of people who have them, I just personally would not have one. It is a matter of expressing your self. If you parents (if you under 18) don't mind and you like them then if your a guy get them. Same for a girl. If you a guy understand people may think less of you... just a warning.

Yeah, tongue rings are really associated with one thing.  Both on the guy and girl end.

I'm a bit old fashioned, I don't really like tattoos or excessive body piercings.   The human psyche will always judge and box personality types based on first appearances.

I will say this. Please don't judge me, In my second year of High School, Myself and  my close friend at the time were told by both our girlfriends to get our tongues pierced. Being silly 16 year olds, We did. I didnt last 12 hours, I took it out because it was such an odd feeling and I couldnt talk properly.

Haha i just asked my mom to take me get my tongue pierced just to get her reaction. She yelled "WHAAAT???" and hit my over the head with her gloves haha she said not to get one til I move out

Most if not all facial piercings look freaking stupid. Same goes for the tongue.
