Best current games

Hi, 

I would like to start a topic i couldn't find in the games forum: What are the best games currently? 

The games can be old but they need to be among the best even for todays standards.

PC games only please. 

Motivate your answer.

Well, what are the best games for you? I'm not trying to make a objective master list of games ore something. I just want to know what you guys enjoy and i want to get to know some good games.

for fps bf4 is that game, now that its fixed is much better than the newer games, for other genres i cant help much

Terraria!

This game is a GEM.

It's €5 in steam sale, €10 full price so really cheap.

It's a really fun game, with enough content to keep you busy.

It was released in 2011 and they still add new content for free.

Pick a four pack with some friends and enoy the great gameplay.

This is a hard question to answer as it's more an opinion based.

You can look at the steam Top games by player count to see what the most popular games are.

I know it is opinion based. Thats what i want to know: your opinions. I'm not interested in a list generated by agregating sales figures like on steam.

Ok, my favourite games are:
PUBG (Competitive and toxic fun)

BeamngDrive (The game never ends)

Assetto Corsa (Competitive and fun community with amazing mods and servers)

CS:GO(Fun community servers)

GTA: IV(Story)

GTA: Liberty City Stories (Story)

Bendy and the Ink machine (Just amazing free game)

Rocket League (Awesome game with mates)

Hitman Absolution (Story is awesome and so is the combat/ stealth part of the game)

A year ago I would have said CS:GO but after 3000+ hours and valve doing some terrible business decisions I have now gone over to PUBG and I LOVE it!

I know a lot of people complain about terrible optimization, lots of hackers and so on. But for me the game is a lot of fun even though it got it's problems.

 

I also play Runescape 3 (Not Old School) wich is the perfect game for me, played it for almost 13 years now and really looking forward to 13 more. This game lets me play all the time, if I'm playing another game I can just do something afk, while when I actually play it I can go kill monsters and stuff like that. Weekly updates helps it a lot even though I'm not one of those who goes to do anything thats new in the game Runescape is also comming to mobile soon and when I got lucky to try the beta I have to say I think this will bring the game back to new life!

 

Some other games that I've enjoyed / do enjoy is:

 

DiRT Rally 60$ (You just missed out on a bundle with DiRT Rally & DiRT Rally 4 for like 20$ or something, so can wait for that.

Spintired: MudRunner 30$

Dirty Bomb (Free)

Batman: Arkham City 20$

Batman: Arkham Origins 20$

Also: Runescape got a great community, I love the clan I'm in and spend most of my days talking to them over Teamspeak / Discord.

Huge mmo and a shitload of content for years literally. Also they add content at a pretty nice rate.

the competitive nature of them. in  CSGO i love the feeling of either outsmarting, or out shooting my opponent. PUBG is just a lot of fun to play with friends because the tactical-ness of the game leads to unintentional roleplaying

the question as i see it is not what game i like the most so i'm going with a more general answer, the best games currently are indie games, they are the most innovative and fun. AAA games are copy paste, no real innovation, every year you get a assassins creed, a battlefield,... and then there's the "destinys 2" online fps, fun for a while, but no real innovation and i really get bored quickly with them. PUBG is the exception but it is getting old too and now comes the clones.

 

superhot is about as much fun i had in a game in a long time.

 

personally i'm a sucker for big sandboxes like just cause, GTA, watchdogs.
