Well sadly I'm from Germany so I can't participate but I'll make sure to watch the stream (at 9pm over here).

Gift ideas always depend on a budget so since mine always is pretty low I'd go for a ASUS Xonar DX since it's a very affordable and decent performing card and most people are still wandering around with crappy onboard-audio. ;)

Bitfenix Phenom M White | ASUS RoG Maximus VIII Gene | Intel i7 6700K @4.6GHz | HyperX Savage 2800MHz CL14 DDR4 16GB | EVGA GTX1080 SC | Intel 750 Series PCIe SSD 400GB | EVGA SuperNova G2 550W | Windows 10 Professional x64 | Logitech G900, Corsair K70 RGB MXbrown O-ringed, BeyerDynamic DT880 (600 Ω) on Fiio E10K & Samson Meteor | Dell U2715H 27", Samsung SyncMaster P2450H 24", Samsung SyncMaster 931BF 19" | DIY Ambilight

Heres my list.

Zenbook because I have nothing mobile (of substance),

RT-AC68U, because my single band n is a bit slow now.

and a P9X79-E and 780TI so I can change my media server back into a gaming rig.

And I just realized they're all Asus...

-Mike

Oh, and a Xonar too.

Only a few suggestions so far?? I honestly think the best tech gift to get is a gift card, especially if you're looking for components or peripherals. Personally, I don't know anyone that knows exactly my setup and what it could use, that I would like as a gift. This could be because I'm not a fan of just asking for something specific - that takes the fun out of it for me. If you're fine with asking for something specific, then that's fine. For a 'complete' tech gift like a laptop or similar, then any tech guy could put it to use, no matter if it's exactly the one you would get for yourself.

Stupid US, Canada only, however throwing this as a good present:
custom case with that great ASUS mITX mobo MAXIMUS VI IMPACT, with an i5 haswell processor and a blu-ray/dvd/cd optical drive, ssd and small PSU to put under a tv for the best home-theater experience, I love small form factor machines.

Nexus 7 (2013 with 4g/3g) would be awesome.

Something that's not too expensive and is really handy for almost anyone is an (Asus extreme slim) external DVD Drive.  I know most people don't need a optical drive, I have survived for month on my desktop without one, but now my vivo s400 Ultra book and my dirt cheap gaming PC are without DVD readability. I would really love to be able to quickly install my older disk based legacy software/games without hours of digging around online for a barely legal download. I know of many people in my same position. An external DVD Drive is a great gift, and it could almost be a stocking stuffer and the price Asus sells them for :D

Asus PA279Q, perfect size IPS and 2k resolution would say a 4k monitor if they were cheaper and if video cards would run any games smoothly but there is none.
