Prolonged life i guess makes sense, since less heat and stress on the components? (also lower temperature change from idle 30'C to load 49'C)
Just wondering if some components are designed to work at a specific frequency, and lower frequency might stress them more? (maybe that's not how it works? )
Not, though undervolting can further reduce power draw. Think of voltage as force used to close a door. You close it with less force, the less wear it takes. Of course, if you close it too lightly you couldnt close it (in a graphics card the software crashes)
