Just add More VRAM!

ThorThe1

If you could choose one graphics card that you could add more vram too which one would you add it too?

I would take two GTX 690 with at least 8GB of vram please!

Why not just buy a 1060 with 6GBs then? I also think they have a 4GB 960. lol
I would like the 970 that I own to have 6GB. That would be really convenient.

I dont need more than 8Gb but 12Gb is nice to have..

The thing is i can find used R9 fury for a fair price in here but what kept me from not buying it is the limited 4Gb of Vram.

That is one of the biggest problems of me buying an older used card. They all have much lower vram.

Sometimes I wish they would make memory like they do cpus. Just switch out the chip. I wouldn't mind a bigger graphics card.

780ti w/ 6+gb please.

Mine does amazing at 1255mhz clock and 7110mhz ram, but I'd really like just a bit more memory for textures. Then I would have 0 reason to upgrade.

Serious answer though, I think a lot of people would agree that the original R9 Fury and Fury X would’ve been nicer with more VRAM.

I understand, HBM was limited back then and it wasn’t until Vega that we got more VRAM with HBM2, but 4GB was pushing it for an enthusiast-level graphics card.

GTX 680 with 4GB of VRAM. At least then you could use the card these days.

It’s literally been pissing me off trying to find a cheap g-card for my brother, but every time I see how little vram they have when I find one, it puts me off from buying it.

Yeah, you could add more RAM to your graphics card. Those days are long, long gone now though.

honestly, i think the GTX 780 with it's 3GB of VRAM was really inadequate...i had one and that GPU was quite powerful at the time and i even gamed at 1440p on it and it was running well but in many titles it was limited by VRAM amount for high quality textures and this was in like early 2016 or something like that...that card should have come with 6GB standard.
