Just crank the settings to keep your 1080ti busy, and wait for next year's chips. Threadripper second gen look like it might be your fit with a massive upgrade path and lots of expansion ability, while also providing great performance in games

At 2560x1600 i have no problems to stress the gpu. Hits max power target pretty often and gpu load is 95%+ all the time means most the time load is 99%.

 

But yeah after all the advice i will wait a bit longer before replacing cpu.
