What are these options?(LTC mining)

Hi, I've recently gotten into LTC mining and it seems to work, but I was wondering what these options were.

  • Extra flags
  • thread Concurrency
  • Vectors
  • GPU threads
  • Stratum
  • Worksize
  • Intensity
  • GPU defaults

Many thanks!

@technovore

(btw sorry i cant provide an explanation for the questions, im kinda new at this too)

Dont use GUIMiner when u start mining. cgminer is much better and shows more stuff, like HW errors. Super important. HW means Hardware.

If u have alot of hardware errors, that means u are pushing ur GPU to the point where it gets incorrect calculations, which will degrade your GPU overtime.

So with cgminer, if it tells u u have HW errors, u can easily change settings to make your HW count stay at 0.

if you look closely, it's actually a GUI version of CGminer.

but it indeed doesn't show any HW errors.

so if I were to start using a CLI version(I think you're referring to that), how do I start using a CLI CGMINER?

edit: is this what you mean?bBx67CF.png

here's some basic CLI settings :) might be better to do some googleing though :P

cgminer -o url -u user -p pass --gpu-engine XXX --gpu-fan 55 etc

save it as a cgminer.bat then you can just run that file and you will have all your commands input.

I personally prefer using fan settings from MSI Afterburner :P

Hi, I've recently gotten into LTC mining and it seems to work, but I was wondering what these options were.

Answers to what all those settings do can be found in the CGminer Readme. GUI miner is just a miner running on top of CGminer, it also includes a couple other miners. You're better off using CGminer directly in my opinion.

If you choose to mine using CGminer you will need to do so using a batch file. You can create them in notepad then changing it to a .bat file.

This quick guide should help you get started

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.
