Ubuntu friendly USB wireless stick?

Anyone have any first hand recommendations? I've moved my secondary workstation and can't go wired any more to it (it's across the house) so back to wireless.

It's running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

I can't recal the kernel off the top of my head right now (at work) but I think it's 4.13

It may not be the best, but the CanaKit Raspberry Pi USB adapter works well in a pinch.

Why don't u go PCI Wi-Fi adapter ? I've been using this one on my rig for 5 years right now and I am gonna use it in new rig.

it's for an older box, not sure it's got a free PCIe slot...
