How do you clean your phone screens?

djdelarosa25

I know that a microfiber cloth is mandatory, but regarding the liquid agent that you use, do you use alcohol, water (if so, is distilled really necessary?), or nothing? The reason I ask is that I've read alcohol destroys the oleophobic coating of the screen, the validity of this claim remains unknown.

What do you guys do?

I use a diluted 50/50 mix of isoporpyl and distilled water if it gets really dirty but regular wipe with a microfiber is usually enough.

wait, this is a phone we're talking about right?  As in, it's glass?  Uhh... just use your shirt, or a damp towel if it's really bad.  Honestly shouldn't even need much since sliding in and out of your pocket will likely keep it clean.

These procedures so far sound like we're polishing the hope diamond or something lol

Monitor wipes if necessary, otherwise microfiber cloth.

I use Dawn Dish soap and hot water and a sink for when my fingers get too much peanut butter on them. I've used the little spray hose to clean out my speaker grille before. Yes, I eat peanut butter by the jar no I'm not ashamed I have no shame. Usually if its just finger prints I use a cloth, my shirt, a friends shirt, my tongue... I doubt alcohol destroys the oleophobic coating since I'd notice since I use alcohol on my iPads, phones, everything. But I don't see a need to use alcohol since for most people a cloth is enough. Although I must say, I hate those mystery smudges on my screen

I stick my phone under the faucet (warm water) and wipe it off with my fingers, then dry it off on my shirt or with a cloth. (I have a Galaxy S7. Don't try this with a non-waterproof phone.)

97% isopropyl Alcohol or Fantastik and a soft paper towel. I know it's probably overkill and not good for the screen protectors, but it's just convenient for me.
