What do you do on your mining rigs? Undervolt or overclock?

I undervolt the core clock, and increase the memory clock. but it depends on what your mining. with my 1070 i was getting about 28.5Mh/s with maxed ram, and low core count, and only using like 70ish watts

You're probably looking for perf/watt in which case undervolt is usually a better option

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

When mining on occasions, I undervolt with a slight OC on the RAM.  Helps keep temps under control and lower power draw.

I actually did both. My 1080’s boost clock still ramped up to 2GHz but I dropped voltage enough that power usage was only around 150W~ all by modifying GPU Boost 3.0. In fairness I had an EVGA Hybrid cooler on the card and had it running at 49C, so GPU Boost could get more aggressive clocks.

I also had a significantly more aggressive memory OC while mining versus gaming, but mostly due to memory frequency being reported as running 400MHz lower than under a full gaming load.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.
