Comparing with the original (http://i.imgur.com/zJOu3ac.jpg) something seems off, and I mean beyond the additional compression.  It's like your copy is slightly the wrong size somehow

 

Edit: I realized what it is, the original is only 3820 x 1080, not 3840 *facepalm*

Well, it's 3820x1080, while my resolution is 3840x1080. So it's slightly stretched out.

Well that's just evil and stupid... why would they shave off 20 pixels?  Well, I'm gonna fix this right here and now... We're better off synthesizing a strip of 20 px than blurring the whole image to stretch it to your monitors.

Look closely, you'll see a difference in size and sharpness

(you may want to open them all in new tabs so you can toggle back and forth rather than looking side by side, at least with the first one that shows scale.  The sharpness should be rather obvious at this level ;))
