1080 is really the pinnacle in terms of value among high end cards. No reason to not get one unless the CPU is weak (which it isnt).

Asus Strix card is not the only choice for RGB builds (albeit one of the best). Zotac is not the one I'd pick for a high end card because they screwed up on 1080ti Amp Extreme's VRM cooling and who knows what will go wrong on cheaper cards. My picks are the MSI Gaming X white (colors other than red seems to all be limited editions?) and EVGA FTW models.

@ImNotThere performance is great got it at 2036mhz boost and it never goes above 66 degrees. normally get about 60fps on my 3440-1440 acer predator x34, it depends on game, normally have all settings on high with some on ultra. works really good it my 3rd palit card and never had a problem yet

@Jurrunio think ill take a look at the evga and msi cards as they reasonably priced on amazon uk. like the sound of the msi card as red is 1 of the main colours of my build anyway

FYI hope your psu is not sucking air from the carpet or it may kill your psu.

nice build more RGB i would look at something like some of thisit would go well with the white motherboard and cables and be RGB.

Good luck! (Make sure the voltage slider is maxed out to 1.093V).
