Budget build RAM amount

SauliCity

I'm planning on building a budget gaming rig with a pentium G4560 and gtx1050ti an 2x4Gb ddr3 and I would like to know if getting a 3rd (total of 12Gb) stick would be of any use.

With my current laptop (i5-5200U, integrated graphics) I've managed to fill my 2x4Gb ddr3 with a couple (more like 13) tabs open in firefox with spotify and discord on background.

With new pc, I plan on mostly playing pre-2014 games because they're cheap on steam.

If your games are pre 2014, you should be good. Most games sip on ram like a vegan on a protein shake, but there are some new games (PUBG specifically) that can eat 3gb of ram by itself.

You think 3gb is a lot? ARMA3 can use 6gb by itself

CPU: I5 4590 Motherboard: ASROCK H97 Pro4 Ram: XPG 16gb v2.0 4x4 kit  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 PSU: EVGA 550w Supernova G2 Storage: 128 gb Sandisk SSD + 525gb Mx300 SSD Cooling: Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP Case: Zalman T2 Sound: Logitech Z506 5.1 Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma Keyboard: DBPower LED

Never said PUBG was the worst offender, just calling it out specifically :P

I recommend the ryzen 1200 instead, the 4 cores are better, and 8gb of ram is what I recommend, but only one stick for future upgrades

CPU: Ryzen 1700@3.9ghz; GPU: EVGA 560 Ti 1gb; RAM: 16gb 2x8 Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000; PCPP: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b3xzzM

The Ryzen is a compelling option. Amazon says that its often bought together with an MSI B350 M Pro. Would that be a good choice?

Ryzen is better but is it 30€ better?

Yes, but you will need a network adapter, I recommend the ASRock AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard found here (in spoiler):

If you don't want to get a network adapter

Yes I would say it is 30 € better:

The 4 physical cores make a big difference

Network adaper, for wlan, or do I need one for cable as well? And where I'm buying from, the asrock is ~50€ more expensive.

All mobos have Ethernet, but if you want wireless you need an adapter or a integrated one in the mobo
