An SSD would be the most logical answer

GPU and get an SSD. Everything else should be fine for at least another year and a half or two.

Could also go for an aftermarket CPU cooler or AIO and get some OC going on the 1600

I guess your only options are to overclock your CPU and maybe buy a better GPU, and get an SSD for your OS. Atleast that's what I would do

Specs

i9 9900K 5.1GHz 0 AVX offset

ASUS MAXIMUS APEX XI

Custom watercooling (360mm, 60mm thicc)

EVGA GTX1080 FTW DT

EVGA T2 1000W Platinum PSU

3200MHz G.Skill RGB B-die

Samsung 970 Pro 512GB

Samsung 860 EVO 2TB

Crucial MX300 1TB

No SSD?  Time to make use of that m.2 slot.  Perhaps Samsung 960 EVO 250GB.

PSU, GPU or SSD

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

For a general big jump into faster response time and overall speed feeling, an SSD for boot and software is the main thing you need to look for. A good sata like the Samsung EVO 250GB will be enough, 500GB can also hold several games that you are currently playing which you can always move to the hard drive library when you're finished with.

For a better 1080p+ experience in gaming, the 1060 6GB is a good choice. But considering the very high prices, you have to wait till the either fall or a new GPU is released. The 3GB version can bottleneck several titles already.
