PUBG Having A Hard Time Running On My PC

Jagveer

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 @ 3.7GHhz
GPU: Asus AMD Radeon RX 470 Strix
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H Micro ATX LGA1151
Monitor: BenQ GW2270H 21.5" 60Hz
RAM: HyperX FURY 8GB (1x8GB) 2133MHz DDR4 RAM
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue 7200RPM
OS: Windows 10 Pro

PSU: 500W 80+ Bronze

So my issue is that when I play PUBG I get microstuttering and lower than average fps. I am on very low settings and I get 10-25fps in the spawn room, 10-20fps in the plane and then I get 15-35fps in the cities. In the open fields I get between 30-50. Other people with similar/same specs don't have lag like I do. My temps are fine and my pc is clean. I have used steam launch options like -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -sm4 -malloc=system but none seem to work. I run other games like H1Z1 and Overwatch and they seem to be fine. No matter what GPU driver I use, the fps stays the same. I am going to need some help, thanks

I have sometimes the same issue and I have a way more powerful computer than you the game is very bad optimized the only thing I could see could maybe be the CPU but I would think that

I am live streaming at the time of writing this but I got the same problem.

Yeah, a lot of people say that my CPU is a solid and powerful i3 so I'm not completely sure it's the issue and I don't know if I should even be getting the fps I'm getting right now.

A lot of the issue is likely the hard drive...Try loading the game onto like a USB 3.0 flash drive or something and testing. My friend had similar issues until she did that. Now game runs buttery smooth.

@RGProductionsI have twice but it rarely ever happens... Sometimes it can take like 15 seconds for textures to fully load but thats about it

seeing this thread made me consider moving PUBG to my SSD as I have similar issues.

Should I?

Yes. Several of my friends solved their issues by doing this.

@MathsnerdsIt'll probably be really helpful if you try it and let us all know if anything happens! :D

it will. My friend has a similar setup with a worse GPU and what she did to fix her loads etc was to move the game to a USB 3.0 flash drive instead of her mechanical hard drive. Try this out.

@JurrunioIt uses like 3GB of RAM on average and I have a bit spare so I'm pretty sure RAM isn't the issue

I would set it to very low, not only for FPS boost but also because players will see you hiding in what you think is thick grass.

How can that possibly be faster than a hard drive?

sequential reads/writes are slower unless you have a high-end USB stick, and I was under the impression that IOPS were less as well.

I tried running windows off a 128GB USB 3.0 flash drive once, and it was unusably slow.

@TrigrHIsn't the minimum CPU recommended the i3-4340? I see other people running this game fine with specs similar/same to mine...

@Jagveer Moving PUBG to my SSD gave me about 5-10 more fps, still seems weird with my system specs. Although it seems that PUBG seem to love high clockspeed, low core count CPUs
