How long have you been with them? If it's at least two years call and ask to speak to a manager. The first person you call may not be able to do that, but the people up the chain may.

1-2 years somewhere in there.

We even said that we will go ATT Gigafiber if you dont move us (ya know the good ole threaten to switch) and they said go ahead :D

beware, ISPs are getting bright to people using speedtest and specifically prioritizing a speedtest request over all other traffic. This makes the speed seem more than it is.

I see this a lot but have not seen it affect anyone yet.

Cancelling my cable TV with Comcast, but seems like they have the best Internet here. Bought Amazon Fire Stick which is going to save me a lot! Would like to get away from Comcast internet also. Their fee's are kinda shady, and over priced

I would move then. Of course all I need is internet and TV is worthless to me. I bet the reason you don't move is because of an early cancellation fee right?

Try to forward your call to a "retention office". It is their job to keep you as a customer since it is much more expensive to find new customers than keep the old ones. They will have negotiating power and may switch you.

Persistence is key. My dad has been a member of Comcast for 15 years and every single year on our anniversary (of sogning up for comcast), he calls the office and asks for a discount. He get's it. Our internet bill is gradually lowered by 50-100$ a year.

Well i think theres a fee, and the fact that gigafiber, while its gigabit, its like $80, and i dont think we wanna pay more.

Also Wow has been amazing, like ATT is literal shit, they dont give a fuck about the customers here.

We did the same. Only issue is we come semi close to the 1TB cap.

Three different ones.

At home, it's Midstate Telephone Company.

Fiber, but max speeds they offer is 50/25, which we have.

At school, don't know what the speeds are, but it's Midco.

At work, where I'm allowed to bring my laptop for schoolwork an games, we have SRT Communications.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

Would like to make a lateral move with speed, but a cheaper price. But, everything here in NJ is over priced/highly taxed/shady charges.

Currently using ATT wireless home internet and pay 60 a month for 25gb's of data. I live a mile from fiber just down a dirt road and nothing unlimited is available. We just moved to our new house and this is what we have for the time being. Utility companies need to get their act together and start being able to service those who need it. I live a hour north of Detroit and this makes me angry. Especially when Detroit has comcast's 2gbps fiber and att fiber. Life can truly suck some times

Detroit might have it but most of the surrounding area doesn't. I live in Romulus, 28 Miles west of Detroit. Fastest speed is 150 Mbps Comcast. We have no fiber or gigabit available. Well, we might be able to get 2Gbps fiber, but the cost of that is retarded. Sounds like you live in a rural area. If thats the case, dont expect shit, as its not profitable enough for them to run service to you. Detroit is a larger city, I bed most of these services are in the down town area as its more densely packs. I bet most of the subs around Detroit cant get this level of service. For one, half of them are abandoned, and for second, its all about that profit.

Also ISP's are not utilities. If they were, they would be regulated like DTE energy is.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Here in Hamburg I used "Hansenet" which became "Alice" then "O2" then "Telefonica"... from the 50/10 VDSL there is only about 26/7 left... it degraded over the years...

But I got some fiber in the basement from Willytell. They offer 100/100. Perhaps I'll get that one as second line some day...

Well it inst just the internet, I live a mile of a main road which isnt that far, the thing with the utility company reference is due to the fact that we dont have natural gas, phone lines, jack crap. The thing I do not understand is the next dirt road south of us that connects to the same road and runs parallel, has Comcast, Uverse, and natural gas, and our road has a couple of private drives. I do not understand the logic behind any of these companies what so ever. It makes me and my family angry to a point.

Shouldn't have bought the house.

Not sure why Mich con is not giving natural gas, you might be able to contact the State government about that. But AT&T has deregulated the telecommunications laws here in Michgian, they want to have the option to walk away from the phone lines if areas are not profitable. So, they will NOT be expanding anything. As for Comcast you contact your local franchise authority and see what the franchise agreement says about coverage. But that being said, Comcast might be willing to run a line if you can convince enough of your neighbors to sign up. Other wise they might charge upwards of $50,000 to make it happen.

The company in our area is SEMCO, their last pipeline stake stops at the corner of our property. As for the house, our grandparents gave us land to build on and we just finished building our new house. SEMCO wanted 15,000 to finish the pipeline to our driveway then charge more to run it back to our house. This is ridiculous.
