Gmail or Outlook?

Hello Guys!

What you think about Gmail and Outlook?

Which of this providers is the best and why?

Personally I use hotmail by this day, Outlook 2016 is a very nice software to be honest, works well and helps on business workflow.

I like Gmail. Haven't had a single spam-mail since Gmail opened, and being someone who periodically receives large attachments not having to worry about running out of space is nice. I haven't looked at Outlook in over a decade, so not sure how or if it compares.

I love outlook. Plus it's the professional choice for most companies, so using it at home is just nice for consistency.

I prefer Gmail for a couple of reasons than Outlook:

• Ads in Gmail are much more streamlined and unobtrusive unlike the ads in Outlook taking up some space.
• Grouping the inbox per category in Gmail is better. Outlook only sorts which is "Focused" and which is not.
• Once I click a message in Gmail, it gives me a bigger screen real estate so less scrolling unlike in Outlook where there's a persistent messages list sidebar which you can't remove. 
• Spam filters are better in Gmail than Outlook based on my experience. 
• You can either message or call someone via Hangouts on Gmail, I don't know if you can Skype with someone on Outlook.

Outlook layout has changed. It gives you full height of your screen (well, web browser). You can also customize the layout from the "Gear" icon setting panel, which you can apply to all folder or current one.

 

And you have Skype integration as well audio and video call support, and if you have the credits you can do phone calls.

And Skype online is sync with Skype on your desktop, even opening your last conversation automatically, with the conversation history visible.

Outlook did get better over the years, I must say.

Thanks for that. But it won't change the fact that my biggest annoyance with Outlook is their ad placements which really takes up screen real estate and can be very distracting. The only few reasons I sometimes use Outlook is because I use Windows 10 and I use Office 365.

Yea yea. Personal preference. I use the Mail app in Windows 10 (and Outlook 2016 desktop program for work e-mail, and not important e-mails with GMail account, and RSS feed).

 

I was just pointing out some of the improvement over the years.

Nope I use my old (roughly 21 years) AOL email. As I still have the Master screen name account. I can prevent emails from everyone except addresses that I allow, plus other features that are grandfathered over.

 

I also use my work email most often as well.

I think I also created an AOL email account back in college but never had the chance to use it

Well I got my email because I use to actually have AOL service (still do for some reason) and so I have been able to keep all of my account capabilities.

i use gmail as my proffesional email, and hotmail/outlook as my personal one.

Gmail of course because when someone spies on my than please professionals like the NSA and Google instead of our German "BND".

I just use Thunderbird for all my e-mail accounts, regardless of service; they're all interchangeable pretty much.
