Posted August 31, 2017 You're comparing two items with a difference of 70 bucks.... If you're planning on doing serious overclock yes. If you just want to cool something for the cheap and get mild overclocks then no. If you want to hit that 5GHz, AIO might be the solution but then again, there are competing air cooling solution like the BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3, Noctua NH-D15 and Cryorig R1 Ultimate/Universal. Posted September 1, 2017 Watercooling is worth it if you plan to do a serious overclock and have a motherboard that will aid in pushing you CPU to its limits. You can get a high end air cooler, but they typically take up a ton of space. For example, my Noctua D15 blocks the first PCI-E 1x slot on my motherboard, but with my OC I rarely go above 55C while gaming, 65C running benchmarks. TBH, it all depends on if you are planning to overclock. Posted September 1, 2017 If you want the best overclock go for the h100. If you want a competing air cooler look for something in the $50-$70 range. If you are looking for a good budget cooler, look for anything other than the 212 (there are better options at the same price point). I personally don't recommend an AIObecause there are more points of failure and if they develope a leak it will take your whole system with it.
