I was tasked with wiping the data from a load of rackmount media servers, and then to chuck them in the skip. I clearly assumed these things were old and shit otherwise they wouldn't be telling me to throw it all in a skip. Here's what i got out of them, this shit sickens me. Clearly this is not going in the bin, it's coming home with me :D

6 x GTX 460

4 x Samsung 750 Evo 250GB SSD's

1 x Badass 9800GT that i have hung on my office wall :D

1 x EVGA 750 Ti 2GB

2 x Palit 1050's 2GB

I hate that we live in a world where this kind of thing happens all the time.

Anyone in the Luton area that wants a free GTX 460 hit me up :)

You can always do a recovery of the data on the SSD's :D

Not everyone thinks it's ethical to do that tho but that's up to you.

Oh you nuked them, yea then there's nothing left.

Actuallyn props to your IT manager for requesting that. That actually rarely happens.

I've bought a few systems from local auctions and not a single time they were erased. Not a single thing. Bypassing the password and thadaa, company intel everywhere.

lol yeah he only knows about it cos i used to DBAN his machine all the time haha, so he knew it was a good idea. Funny thing is the data we have on our drives is as far from "sensitive" as humanly possible, yet they act like its fucking nuclear launch codes

A phyiscal nuke is of course always cooler to do than a digital one :D Actually IDE drives bigger than 320GB might be worth keeping tho. I've looked for a 500GB+ IDE drive and they were expensive AF.

Ah, nevermind then. And congrats on the find! The things some companies will throw out is astounding.

My boss brought in his old iPhone 6S and his new one, asked me to setup his new one...just left the old one with me.

Wiped it and it's working as it should. But I'm no thief so I gave it back to HR xD (Not that you're a thief, I mean they were actually scrapping the ones you got) mine was a case of "ok I've got my new phone...bye." Could've probably kept it and no-one would even know...too honest for my own good.

O, they would notice.  Darn things are inventoried on a regular basis.

Specs wise, look at the Latitude line of Dells.  That gives you a good idea.
