*HELP* Received recruitment letter from the NSA

Yesterday after i came back from my job at an ice rink in Brooklyn i checked my mailbox. Got a letter, and it was indeed a letter from the NSA.... They wan't me to work there, BUT WHY ME?!?!?! And the letter doesn't even say if i can opt out or not, which i wan't to. Keep in mind im 18 and a freshman in college, wtf do i do. I'm under an circumstances WILL NOT post the letter on here or anywhere in the internet because who knows, they'll make me disappear and send me to Cuba. You will just have to take my word for it, anything helps. I am open to anything, even if it means shooting myself in the foot.

I don't have name/address/anything on this account. And it's german VPN so the traffic is still over there and will not leave, which i believe doesn't but who knows man. The NSA can now have data of what you beat off to.

It's a scam or a joke, if it isn't though lawyer up. Also if they actually wanted you to work for them a VPN wouldn't stop them from finding you and watching you.

Have you been doing things that the NSA would both notice and be interested in? I don't think the NSA's legitimate recruitment system entails sending letters out to random people..

 

My guess is that this is some type of clever scam.. Ignore it. (though it may not be a bad idea to keep the letter around for future reference if you need it)

 

I wouldn't spend money getting a lawyer if this is just some scammer whose copying an NSA-esque letterhead and sending it around hoping that someone will do something stupid. Don't do something stupid..

This isn't necessarily fake. I did an summer internship the DoD when in my senior year in high school as under "civilian" status (non-military) . Standard $15/hr pay as an exploration of Computer Science/Engineering. It was cool in my opinion, although I tend to ignore the "spying " stuff that is going on. As long as I was getting paid, I was happy.

The address on the letter was from 9800 Savage Rd, Fort Meade, MD. 

Looks legit.
