They are both highly inflated due to mining (Which unfortunately is still going strong and probably will be for a while) If your spending over $400 get a 1070

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

Are you sure that's the cheapest you could find? I mean the cryptomining is still around but I've seen some 300 280 eur 1060s

Equal in performance but the RX580 has 2GB of VRAM extra so why not (if you can get them at the same price)

Those prices are ridiculous. Search a bit more and I'm pretty sure you could find some new 1070 or used 980 Ti for less than that.

Maybe a used 980Ti? I went that route, got a very high clocked version and I'm more than happy with it.

If there's really nothing else in the world, I would opt for the 580 8GB cause it should last you longer.

I don't know where you live but in EU, used 980 Ti's go for around 350$/€... 980s can be found for less than 300 sometimes. New 1070s go for 450€ without rebate. I mean, you say you're on a budget and then tell us that you can only buy 1060/580 for 400+$, doesn't make sense ^^

If you really really have no other choice in your country, go for the 580 since it's a bit cheaper and will perform on par with a 1060 !

the thing is, my budget allows only 400~450$ as maximum for the gpu, i wont really go below 1060 or 580, thats why i was wondering which one of these should i buy, because every 1 dollar here makes a difference plus its only the options available for me here "nothing below 1060/580"

P.S: thanks for letting me know that i have to buy the 580, thought its performance would be below 1060

Vega 56 no bundle. MSRP of $400.

The miners shouldn't touch them in significant numbers for a week or two even if they end up being good for mining so you should be able to get ahold of one.

the rx 580 has a better core, but the 1060 has more vram. youll have to decide based of what games you play and how much vram they consume

The RX 580 4gb and 8gb are the same in performance when not as much Vram is demanded.

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

PLEASE QUOTE OR @ ME FOR A RESPONSE xD

as someone who owns a 4 gig 480, i can confirm that in a lot of tripple a games out now i run out of vram. its not that big of an issue as textures can still stay on high, but i do run out sometimes
