Problem with gaming mobos

I am planning to build an ultimate RGB and extremely powerful gaming PC. But when I searched about different RGB motherboards and some powerful gaming CPUs, I came to know that gaming mobos do not have really amazing components. If some CPUs have those components, then they don't support high end gaming CPU (i7 7700 k).

WTF all those mobos manufacturers doing?

For example Mother of all mobos (actually God of all mobos) Asus rampage 5 edition 10 does not Support i7 7700 k. Although it has 4 pcie slots and amazing RGB armor.

Even Z270x gaming 9 has the same problem.

If anybody know the company who builds the custom mobos or how to exchange CPU socket then please for god sake reply.

Thanks.

Erm it is not possible to change the CPU socket on a mobo. If you want a 7700k then just search for Z270 mobos. And there are some amazing looking ones with very good RGB implementations

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X PBO GPU: Asus Strix RTX 3090 OC Mobo: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600Mhz CL17

CPU Cooler: Corsair H150i Capillex Storage: Samsung 980 Pro and 970 Evo 1TB Samsung 860 EVO 1TB Crucial MX300 525GB WD Black 2TB PSU: Corsair HX1000 Case: Corsair 500D SE RGB 6x LL120

You don't change sockets. They are built for a specific architecture and purpose

Then you need to buy a Socket 2011-3 CPU or you just look at Asus´s Strix Z270 offerings as they are similar to that

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X PBO GPU: Asus Strix RTX 3090 OC Mobo: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600Mhz CL17

Woah there. You need to learn a thing or two about cpu architecture and compatibility.

While the Asus rampage 5 edition 10 is pretty much the mother of all motherboards, it uses the X99 platform, which is Intel's enthusiast platform, for all their "extreme edition" i7 or Xeon CPUs.

You want to use the i7-7700K, which is the highest end i7 on the Z270 consumer platform.

Asus's equivalent Z270 highest end board is the Asus Maximus IX Hero.

Socket 2011-3 CPU does not support i7 7700k . it supports i7 6850k and some others but these are not good for gaming.

Oh well I really don´t want to have this discussion now. So then like I said twice look at Asus Socket 1151 Z270 chipset mobos. They have this exact cover for the chipset you want

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X PBO GPU: Asus Strix RTX 3090 OC Mobo: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600Mhz CL17

Dude just go with a lga 1151 socket motherboard. That is the only type of board that will work with a 7700K.

You COULD buy the Rampage 5 Edition 10, But you would need to desolder and swap out:

-The CPU socket

-The chipset

-The internal circuitry running through the motherboard.

-Quite a few more things

You do realise you're saying "Why won't this enthusiast board work with my consumer CPU?????"

You have two choices

If you want an X99 motherboard, you buy an Extreme Edition i7 or a Xeon

If you want an i7-7700K, you buy a Z270 motherboard.

You CAN NOT use these two things together, do you understand?

Just saying but this isn't true. I'm 14 and I could afford a 7700k with my own cash. Hell, if I wanted to I could go out and build a beast rig with a 7700k Maximus ix extreme delid the 7700k get 64gb ram a 2tb 960 pro some $700 case a Seasonic prime CPU and 1080 ti sli and then water cool all of that and buy two acer predator x34s to go with it. But I don't, I choose not to, because it's a waste of money. All the money I have right now is stuff I saved since I was like 5 and/or money I made myself (some of it is actually from the stock market, I've already made over $1000 off amd).

As for OP, that's because it's PHYSICALLY not possible. 7700k has 1151 pins. X99 has 2011. You PHYSICALLY can't fit them together. If you want an rgb tastic z270 mobo look at the Maximus IX hero or Maximus in extreme.

Maybe he meant it's not worth it at all to spend up to quintuple the price of an i7-7700k for a couple frames more you may get with a 6850k. If he didnt, welp.

I'm saying you don't need an i7 7700K to play games.

I have a 5 year old Xeon that was top-of-the-line when released and a lowly 1050Ti and I can still play most games on High or Ultra,

Oh yeah, you definitely don't need a 7700k if you're only gaming.

The 7700K is a hyper-enthusiast level workstation CPU. And the 6850K "not good for gaming"? WTF is this dude on?

I wouldn't call it hyper enthusiast level, leave that to i9 and Thread ripper, but it's at least enthusiast level.

Anyways OP, the sockets look different.

Although these photos are not to scale, neither are they to scale with each other, I would look at them.
