Gtx 1050 ti low profile mod (?)

first things first: I bought a Dell optiplex off an ebay refurbisher and I got played. The image showed an optiplex 7010 wich should have a 3rd generation i5 (and USB 3) however what I got is an optiplex 790: 2nd gen i5 and no USB 3 :(

I was planning to put a gtx 1050 ti lp. But that would cover both pci slots not allowing me to install a USB 3 card. 

Conclusion: is there anyway to mod the gtx 1050 ti low profile into a single slot card so I can install it along with a USB 3 card?

Get a PCIe extender for the USB card? It's like a big ribbon cable, so it could fit under the 1050 Ti.

It's the sff one with 2 pci-e slots.
