AMD or Intel CPU

Go to solution Solved by Hexedtemplar,

There's no benefit and if there was it would so small

AMD GPUs don't benefit at all of being paired with a AMD cpu. You can pick whatever you want, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, mixed them all together and it will be the same.

If you have the  budget for a Intel processor (let's say 4670k) Then go for it. If it seems a tad expensive, go for AMD.

Welp looks like I am an idiot I'll be grabbing an I5 then

I am going to be building a new PC after christmas and am not sure whether I should go with an Intel or AMD CPU. AMD GPUs apparently work better when paired with AMD CPUs but is it really that much of a performance jump? I literally only use my computer for games and other day to day stuff and for my last build I went with an I7. Which was a mistake because I barely use it to it's full potential. Anyone want to throw in their two cents?

AMD CPU + AMD GPU + 990FX mobo = Perfect:) apparently you do get the 'full' experience. If money is not your problem then go intel.

Money technically isn't a problem but I dont want to over spend on something I won't use.

Uh, what? That's 100% false.

I could be wrong but I remember reading that AMD CPUs work better in tandam with their GPUs.

$1200-1600 ish I am defiantly getting an R9 290x but thats the only part thats set in stone currently.

budget like that go with an intel i5 or i7 ... though if you go with an 8350 the money saved can be used to water cool the gpu (i could be wrong though ... not sure how expensive it would be to water cool a gpu)

(1) high frame rate (2) ultra graphics settings (3) cheap...>> choose only two<<...

if it's never been done then i'm probably tryna do it. (((((((Bass so low it HERTZ)))))))

Appreciate it, I'll be grabbing everything from NCIX after christmas. Thanks to everyone who corrected my silly assumption.

Uh, what? That's 100% false.

its the advertising  AMD puts out. its quite convincing but false.

honestly i dont know why people go for the 4670k cause overall the 8350 is on par or better in the things people actually use and matter in the real world. but u can really go wrong with the 4670k.

i wish someone could actually have a valid reason for the 4670k. i mean i like the chipset better for like audio and stuff but other than that idk.
