If he's a sellout, why are you still here? And if you really think everyone is a sellout, why are you complaining?

ALSO: He is the CEO of a business. He is not making money for himself, yes he will get a cut of it, but that's not why he's doing that. He's even said before in an apology video that he doesn't want more money, and isn't trying to mislead people, he is trying to grow his business like any good, smart CEO would. I'd be with you if he was growing his business at the expense of others, but you have yet to bring up a valid proof that he is.

Honestly, I don't know how I feel about them doing Intel ads.

Personally I don't care. I think it's fine. I know a contract for an ad isn't going to stipulate requirements on the content of things that are not that ad. Linus will continue to make videos just like always.

This whole "Linus was paid to make an ad, now his soul belongs to Intel" is dumb.

On the other hand, people are inevitably going to play that card anyway, creating a lot of backlash.

The fact of the matter is Intel is still the IPC/clockspeed king and is the better choice for absolute extreme gaming rigs. I don't have a problem with the content of the ad.

I'm not an Intel fanboy. My next rig will 99% chance be with ryzen. But that's the state of the market right now. AMD has nothing to compete with X series chips from Intel right now.

@CwStrife could you explain me why making a standalone youtube ad for intel (that most people even don't see because of adblockers) is so bad, and having an ad at the end of every video (and sometimes in the beginning) about the same companies over and over again isn't?

You don't know that. Only one person knows that. It may be obvious to you, but it isn't to me. It's obvious to me that he is a smart guy trying to do the best by his employees (except poor Dennis, who will probs end up in a cast at some point) and business. Maybe it's 'cause I work with my dad, and he understands all this business stuff and why companies do what they do and how some things may look like they are cheating you, but the are not. And y'all still haven't shown me who is being hurt by Linus supporting Intel in a paid advertisement.

Yes! They keep dodging my point that Linus would do the same thing if AMD was one of his main sponsors and paid him to make an advertisement. It's an ad, therefore he is not going to state his full views. Imagine if he did an ad only about the negatives of an Intel CPU? Why would they pay him for that?

I think the OP and a few others are missing that it is Linus MEDIA Group.  Not Linus Youtube video Group.

They do a lot of production for Technology companies.  I believe Intel is one of his bigger clients in this.  I remember seeing that they had done a number of videos for the Retail edge program a few years back along with others.

This doesn't mean that he can't be neutral when he does Reviews.  We have all seen them be extremely harsh on companies in reviews that they have good relationships with.  We have seen them drop sponsors in a heartbeat because viewers had issues with them.

If he was a sellout things would look a lot different.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

He's even done heavily negative reviews of Razer products, and if anyone owns Linus's soul it's Razer ;)

If he was a sellout, all his videos would be Intel, and he'd seem fake as well. It's tricky, especially in videos, to be a sincere sellout. He's obviously motivated by a love for his family and tech, not money(Look at his house and car, they're nice, but not outrageous).

This is a complete joke, try to understand ,most viewers know linus' stand on Intel and AMD, just by making an AD doesnt mean he supports it, even if he does its up to the consumers to decide on what to buy, he is just trying to run his company

Now this thread has me wondering if there's a viewer who ONLY uses LTT recommended products.  They're eating their Savage Jerky, watching Crunchy Roll, while using Freshbooks on their Dbrand skinned phone?

dude he got most of that server stuff for free..... all he had to do was make videos about the servers and build. same with all the editing rigs. guess what? intel and others gave them the cpu for free for videos and ad spots.

I honestly doubt you have 30 years old given how you still don't understand how economics works and where the income of a channel comes from...

They offer good content fund by brands that want merchandise, every body wins including us since they can work full period on just do youtube videos for people to watch for free.

Intel actually funds some guy we like instead of FOX for a commercial... so yeah... why the hell are you qq'ing for real? Looking for drama? eh...

Welcome to the real world. This is the system that we humans created.

He is a reviewer, yes. But unfortunately he can't make a living out of it without "selling" out from time to time.
