That's how I play. It becomes painful trying to play games with a 16:9 monitor afterwards.

Also what is 4k food for then. It seems like ultra wide is winning in almost every case?

Up to you. If you're only using a single monitor and you play shooters, racing, or simulation, I'd find it worthwhile. If you're just surfing the web or doing Powerpoints, not even useful.

I'd take more screen over pure resolution. It's why I opted for 5760x1080 over 2560x1440. Seeing more of the field has more advantages in any game, whether we're talking RTS, FPS, or f#cking Minesweeper.

 

Professional work with veterinary software or CAD, being able to move files and images all over without disrupting view of the main project is a Godsend.

Also having an ultrawide screen. Most games I play work pretty well. Even some older games.

Then I was quite surprised that Fallout 4 did not supported the 21:9 ratio. I had to edit the config file for setting the correct resolution and

install a mod to fix the menu's and power armor HUD.

I found ultrawide 21:9 not right for me, for gaming.

 

It's well, to wide.

 

I have settled on 16:9 but in 32 inch 1440p as just about perfect for my gaming. Took a while to get to this conclusion but glad I did try pretty much everything!
