SLI upgrade but no improvement

Hi,

 

I have just  bought a 2nd hand Asus GTX 670 2GB vid card to run SLI alonside my identical Asus GTX 670 2GB vid card but I am getting no frame improvement, its almost slightly worse.

 

FPS is around 30-35 on both BF1 and Battlegrounds on high settings

 

Specs

MB Asus Maximus IV extreme z

Intel i7 2600

PSU 850W

8GB RAM

SLI bridge installed and both cards have all power cables connected

Latest GeForce drivers are installed after a clean with Driver fusion

Bios is at the latest version and I re flashed it anyways

Both vid cards are present in Bios at 8x in lanes 1 and 3

Nvidia control panel shows SLI is operational

Depends on the game. BG is early-access, so I have no idea if it'll be fixed or if it can. BF1, I have no idea if it's good with SLI or not.

BF1 is one of those games that are quite decent in GPU AND CPU scaling.

 

Shouldn't really have much scaling issue on any setup.

 

Monitor your CPU AND GPU usage.

I'd say use a monitoring program such as MSI Afterburner to see what your GPU usage, CPU usage and RAM usage is at when playing games. This can help you pinpoint the bottleneck or other issue you might be having

I have been using GPU-Z to monitor things and nothing seems abnormal, both GPU's are using all the memory and heating up to 72degrees

My brother's SLI GTX 960's can run the game well actually (scaling is decent from what he told me). One of the GTX 960's he has belonged to me, and I gave it to him when I upgraded to the GTX 1080 Ti.

Ok, took a screenshot in game last night, 2nd card still inactive and cpu usage seems normal

You sure your doing it right? Second card isn't active. Both of those games work. Need to get valley and troubleshot it.

That'd be it. Or heaven. Just use these first to ensure both gpu's work and reach 99% usage. Then try a game.

ok, tried Valley and BOTH Gpu's were working at 90+%, but nothing in PUBG and BF1

Also do you have a screen shot of them both working in valley. With fraps or ab up, I think you were using one of those.
