DO i need an SSD for gaming

So, i'm going for a budget build but i'd like to know that

do i need and SSD for gaming

for me, i can wait for games to load but...

will it affect FPS and other things??

No just load times and overall more system responsiveness.

No SSD's or an SSHD will just cut down load time.

It helps when you want your PC to be quickly accessible. But there is no FPS gain, starting and enter a map will have noticeable quickness

I would suggest a cheap ssd with maybe 120gb of storage for your OS, personally, I hate working on computers with an HDD, just makes it load so much faster and better.

More like cheap SanDisk SSD for boot drive and then the HDD to hold the games and what not, the performance improvements are gigantic on OS responsiveness.

It is not needed but preferred, but if this is a budget setup SSDs aren't the cheapest storage method but they are very fast when it come to gaming.

Yes exactly what I was thinking.

 

And if you are willing to spend about $20 more you can get an sshd instead of an hdd for your games.

Honestly I would get an ssd Before an HDD even if it was a budget build.

it won't affect the FPS of a game, but I wouldn't build a PC today without an SSD boot drive. even budget computers see noticeable performance boosts in app load times, boot times and just general "snappiness" of the computer, I even do SSD's when someone brings me there old computer wanting to speed it up. Hard Drives are strictly for mass storage nowadays.
