No CPU Fan?? (I have reasons)

Hi all,

 

Idk if this is the right sub to post this in, I'm pretty new around here.

Anyways, I'm building a VERY custom quite modded PC to power a robotic submarine. As you could imagine, that comes with some challenges. It's completely water cooled, but that leaves us with one challenge. I don't have any fan to plug into the cpu fan port. The radiator will be external and not powered by any fan (it'll be sitting in water). Any fans/pumps I do have will need to be controlled by an external microprocessor because there are times when we need the sub to be completely silent (sonar searches and the like). 


It's an i7 based build with an MSI h81i itx mobo. Will I be able to boot with no CPU fan, and if not is there any way around it?

It will be fine. Some systems on the market are passively cooled so the manufacturer is aware of this possibility.
