Questions about Assassins Creed 2

Bluuz

[No spoilers pls]

I just got a copy of assassin's creed 2, and have a few questions:

1) I haven't played any of the AC games, what do I need to know about the universe?

2) Do I need to know the story of AC1? If so, are there any good videos that I can watch?

3) How's the performance on PC? (780ti + 3570k)

4) Has it aged well? Most recent rpg I've played was Witcher 3 (which I enjoyed). The Italian setting of AC2 does interest me, though

Anything else I should know?

Absolutely nothing. Almost everything is contained within AC2.

See above.

It'll perform well.

It has. AC2 (and the Ezio line) is my favorite thus far.

You should just watch a video about AC1 the story is good but the game is very outdated, things get interesting on the 2, honestly from 2 all the way to rogue I really enjoyed AC, only gotten shitty on Unity and Syndicate.

1. the Ezio trilogy is the bulk of the story

2. sort of. i started AC with AC 2 and i didn't have any issues. doesn't hurt to hear a recap of the first game, because AC 1 isn't nearly as refined as AC 2 and so forth..

3. still performs well. might have to do some tinkering but it should run

4. like i said previously, it hasn't aged that well. it's still playable, tho. they nailed the whole formula with AC 2

I disagree. I think Black Flag is an excellent AC game, and is an amazing game, in general - far better than AC3, which came before it.

Rogue was merely a bit on the better side of OK, though, while Unity and Syndicate are almost completely barren of AC themes, and quality questing and writing. I think that's because the main AC writer left Ubisoft sometime during or after Black Flag.
