Can an old power supplies be reused?

Mr. Nipsi

Hey,

I'm building a new system with:

Asus Z170I Pro Gaming
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000Mhz 16GB
Asus GeForce GTX1060 3GB Dual OC
Intel Core i5-7500 Kaby Lake
samsung ssd 850 evo 750gb

Corsair Hydro Series H110i v2 CPU cooler

In a Corsair Carbide Air 240 Cube

Will i be able to reuse my old Corsair rm750 power supply?

yes but i would changing your build plan. you are putting a 100 plus dollar cpu AIO liquid cooler on a cpu that isn't overclockable and on a motherboard that doens't even have out of the box compatibility with 7th gen cpus. you also are getting a gpu that is just bad price to performance wise compared to other gpus in the same price range.

What would you then go for? I have a budget of 1000 dollars. And i already have the case and power supply.

this would give you much better gaming performance. you wont be able to overclock as much with that cooler but you should be able to do some minor overclocks but tbh the stock clock of the 6700k would destroy that i5 you planing on getting. you get a fast ssd for your os and then you have a hhd for mass storage. you have a gtx 1070 with a really good cooler that should handle anything you throw at it in 1080p and 1440p.

didnt even see that there was a gtx 1070 for 335 dollars. that's an incredible deal. they said 1000ish so i'm pretty sure they could handle it being a dollar or two over.

Is there a 750GB 850 EVO that I'm not aware of...?

Anyways, yeah, feel free to reuse your RM750. Also, don't get an i5 7500 and a watercooler. It's just a waste when you can't OC your CPU. Get something like a Cryorig M9i or use the stock Intel cooler. You could also do to get a cheaper motherboard since, again, your CPU can't be overclocked.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

My system: PCPartPicker || For Corsair support tag @Corsair Josephor @Corsair Nick || My 5MT Legacy GT Wagon ||
