What do/did you do in school?

MoYo

A simple question, I am interested in what the people on this forum do/did in school?

With that I mean what specific classes/ lessons do you follow? In what do you specialize?

I am 16 and my course is called Latin-Science, which means I study Latin and chemics, physics, biology...

I know education systems are different around the world, I live in Belgium and I'm in the fifth year of high school but this might be called differently in your country.

I'm curious :)

I took a computer electronics course (A+ preperation) and attended the Cisco Networking Academy at my High Schools career education center. I obtained my A+, Net+, and Security+ certs before graduating High School in 2006 and went to work as a desktop support technician for the school district I graduated from immediately following graduation. Took a few classes at a community college towards a computer science degree but am now pursuing my EMT certification, just for fun. Have to get my medical skills up before the zombie apocalypse, you know.

I see a lot of people do stuf like ICT/computer science.(as expected on a tech forum :P) Sadly I had no option to do something with computers in my school, but Latin is fun and I will probably have the option do something like computer sciense when I go to a uni or college.

In the UK there is a huge difference.

College is where people can go at 16 to study vocational stuff instead of staying for another 2 years in secondary (high) school doing academic stuff. Some colleges offer A levels but generally A levels would be studied at a "sixth form" whereby you essentially stay in school for another two years until you're 18.

University is for age 18+ and is essentially what Americans call college.

What is the difference between IT and computer science

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.

In my country we have 'hoge school' and university, a 'hoge school' education is less theoratical than a university education, you work more in groups and practice more. In 'hoge school' you are a bachelor after 3 years and then most people start working, at the university you also become bachelor after 3 years but a lot people study another 1 or 2 years to get a master degree.

Visual Studios is an IDE, not a programming language.  :)

True, basically its drag and drop boxes (and add a code)

But Visual Studio + Java together can make a pretty awesome program :D

Ah okay, I get it, we have the same. (We are both in the EU, therefore Bologna reform, right?)
