1070, 1080 or 1080ti?

Hello!

I'm unsure which graphics card I should get, I'm looking to play at 1440p 144hz, and I'm unsure which card would be the best overall. Obviously the 1080ti would outperform all of these, but is the extra power necessary? As well as that, is the extra cost worth paying for the extra power?

im pretty sure a 1080TI wont max out all games at 1440p 144Hz, it will do all lighter titles but not the new AAA titles

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

What CPU do you have?

 

1080 is probably the best perf/4 ATM but 1080ti is still pretty close and will be able to close much closer to 144 hz. If you don't have G-sync you may want to consider it.

I have an I7 6700K at the moment, which I've heard should be fine for any of these cards.

Honestly, I think 1080 might be enough. You won't get less tearing or anything with a 1080 ti and 1080 should be able to push at least 80 or so fps. If you think that you'll notice the difference between 80 and 100 fps then sure, go for the 1080 ti, but otherwise a 1080 is perfectly fine.

If money isn't an issue always go for the best I guess? I'd say the 1080ti is aimed at single card 4K though.

yea get a 1080ti for 1440p its perfect atm. Later down the line if you want you could allways SLI it.  Allways get the fastest card you can AFFORD no matter what people say. Unless its a gtx 1080ti for a 10 year old system then NO lol

ti is a bit much imo. For 1440 you should be fine with the 1080. Remember that the 1070 can handle 1440 at 60hz just fine so the 1080 should handle 60+ on most games
