@bcguru9384 Well if you'd like to make the topic conversation-worthy, why not link the video, quote the comment and then clearly state what you think. It wasn't till your 4th post that I'm understanding what you're trying to say.

Back on topic, I don't entirely agree as even todays' cartoons still have the main character (the hero) winning, because of friendship or something of the like.

P.S. I didn't say you violated any rules, I don't even know them myself nor do I care so long as people aren't dicks :P

I think you're misunderstanding me, all I said is this doesn't belong in the news section (as this thread is your opinion, not news).

If you can't post links how are people meant to know what you're talking about? You can read the posting guidlines here if you're unsure of anything.

When have I disrespected you? Everything I've said is either 'this isn't news', 'how you can make this and future posts better' or contributing to the conversation once I knew what it was about.

And Winnie the Pooh wasn't about winning?

If I remember the '80s show correctly, then there was always a conflict that had to be resolved in every episode.

The critters of the Hundred Acre Wood always overcame the conflict and thereby they "won".

Also, what was there to learn from Winnie the Pooh? As far I remember the show it was full of unnecessary moralizing and pseudo-intellectual quote fodder.

Lastly, what evidence do you have, that points to modern cartoons being less intelligent and less concerned with social issues?

There are plently of shows like that coming out today.

As much as I despise most of these show, there are lessons to be learned from show like Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, MLP: Friendship is Magic and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

Being selective about your memory doesn't really help matter either. What important message was conveyed by show like Street Sharks, Jem, My Little Pony 'n Friends and Snorks?

I would also hate going back to a time where cartoons tried to force a obvious message down out throats. Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescuse was terrible in 1990 and it is still terrible today.

What time is it? To learn today's lesson.

Image result for animaniacs wheel of morality

I think you just picked one good example for yourself, but chose to omit the results that don't confirm you view.

Basically all other 80's and 90's shows were to promote toys. Cartoons on themselves didn't make enough money, they needed the toys (or the other way around).

I am glad with cartoons this day and age, those that are not dependent on kids buying toys and can tell their own story. Cartoons still have morals, lessons and deep stories, maybe not all the time though.
