Just watched a Kyle's video and at the end he talked about this channel:

It seems as Kyle has found a way around vessel shutting down by using a paid youtube channel which allows him to upload videos 7 days early on that channel before posting it to his main channel.

 

FPC competitor confirmed? 

 

On a side note, he is getting so much shit because people doesn't seem to understand that it's only early access...

Most people on LTT too, I clearly remember all the dumb people who complained about vessel.

It mainly it to support the content creator with a benefit of receiving content early.

They are hardly at same level. YT Red/paid channels aren't available on most countries while FPC is. Plus, FPC isn't having to deal with Youtubes issues, but has ton of its own.

One thing thats important to note, and is why i support floatplane entirely.  Is that when you make your own content delivery platform you are no longer reliant on the video platform and rules of someone else.

 

Say that Google decided to shut down youtube tomorrow.  Yes, unlikely to happen, but they are well within their bounds to do so.  What happens to LTT?  They simply fallback to FPC.  Honestly its a great move and I hope they expand it to feature free content that matches whats on youtube.  Like a FPC free and a FPC gold or something like that.

I think some people viewed Vessel as double dipping. Outside of a few exclusives, it's the same content, just with "early access," so they were getting paid for the same content twice.


From a consumer perspective, it's hard to see the value, as cheap as it is. A lot of people simply watch videos when they have time; paying for something I may or may not watch within 7 days before it's released for free doesn't seem right.

And while people will say "I'll pay whatever to support what they do," I think the inherent problem with that is that you're not as able to give enough feedback for the creators in such a system. Simply "supporting" by subscription doesn't reflect the product being produced. At least with general Youtube, your following, the interest of the topic of the video, and the video itself is reflected by views, how long people watch, etc... All analytics provided to help you improve your product. 

While there isn't an easy solution, I'd much rather contribute to videos I want to see, rather than accept whatever is given. Contributing to projects, rather than the channel, also allows for support without LMG having to bow to hype topics around the web in order to get views.

Shutting down is going to extreme. Youtube/Goolge already has too many rules (I know why they need to) and other obstructions. FPC gives LMG free hands to follow their own set of ethics. And if we like it or not will have direct showing in their wallets.
