2x Titan XP vs 2x 1080Ti

SnipeYa
Go to solution Solved by Goodman2265,

people need to read holy balls

So I have the opportunity to purchase two Titan XP's for the same price as what it would cost me to pre order two 1080Ti's.

My question is, Which will perform better?

Obviously the Titan XP's..

Why would nVidia sell the 1080ti as an out performer to the Titan XP, afterall its called a Titan for a reason ;)

The Titan XPs will perform better by about 5%ish. The 1080Ti will just be a slightly cut down Titan XP in terms of performance with 11Gb of VRAM. To make a long story short, order the Titan XPs.

NO!

It will probably cost 3k for the Titans while the 1080ti's will probably be 1100 each...

All the articles are leading to the fact that 1080 Ti performs faster than Titan X.

That is true, this is because of the better performance boosting tech and power delivery according to Jay on TechTalk. But the 1080ti will be a cut down and lower performing Titan.

Due to their higher clock speed I believe, So the only thing the Titan has going for it is the extra memory.

It is best to buy the 1080 Ti because it costs less than the Titan XP and outperforms it by 5% or so

1080ti is not cutdown appart from the 8 ROP they cut off which won't impact performance until you push like 8K resolution and even then it will be very minimal.

i would get the 1080ti because they will be brand new...and nvidia has been producing them chips for a while so they are likely to be more ''mature'' and overclock better than the old titan XP chips.

The Titan XP looks cooler and comes with a premium feature: the DVI-D port. Thus why it is the double of the price.

Wouldn't having a new, highly anticipated gpu be more 'braggable' than an older card?

Just sayin.
