Best pc build for AE in 2017! I really need advice

This is my 2nd day doing research about what specs will really help my work in after effects. I find it much more confusing when I encounter new terminologies from intel and amd. My usual work in After effects is making explainer videos and create some 3d photo/video slide template.

This is my current specs.
i7-4790
gtx970
16gb ram
ssd - 2x

In terms of processor what will be the best in year 2017? because we have the new Ryzen 1800x compared to i7-6900k which is $1000 twice the price of Ryzen. I can afford a $400-$590 processor but I need a bang for buck because I live in Philippines computer parts are much more expensive here. Also the i7-6850k is just around $570. Im not sure weather Ryzen will be compatible with AE or they are in harmony in terms of computing, something I read in some comments that AMD lacks PCIe lanes etc. that made me doubt again for the Ryzen 1800x.

For the graphics cards I have these questions.
Can I use AMD video cards(more affordable)? I dont use raytrace 3d but I use the regular 3d like the camera tool. or should I just go with gxt 1070? will I benefit if I go to gtx1080? I also saw some words in the nvidia website that they will be making a comeback support to raytrace 3d on their pascal gpu in 2017.

when I use the camera tool in After effects im using OpenGL right? notcuda cores(for raytrace 3d only)?

I really prefer faster previews and ram rendering for previews.

The sure thing is I will be having 32gb or 64gb of ram for my next build.

Thank you so much for the help :)

Best? Damn just slap an i7 6950x in there and a 1080 Ti and call it a day, unless you have some budget limitation

the 1800x should perform amazing at hard core rendering and editing - wait for benchmarks though - i would travel to malaysia and go buy there because intel manus stuff there and people steal from the factories all the time and sell them dirt cheap

A 1700x and a 1070 will do you pretty well, try to get a mobo with compatibility with am3 coolers so you can get something like a h100i and oc to 4ghz (all cores active) or something similar.

@gtx1060=value It does really well in gaming even, might not be as good as the 7700k in pushing frames but if you're only into high resolution more slow paced single player games the 1800x really is a solid pick from what I have seen on this first day benchs, and you still get the extra performance on those multi-threaded applications.

I will try out it soon to know for myself, I just find it amazing that for the cost of the i7 6900k alone my brother is going to be capable of making a full 1800x rig to replace the old i7 3770 one at his work, where he handles lots of video editing and rendering and all, in pricing it sure is a pick.

But if people still want Intel, I would strongly recommend not even bothering with price dropping or anything, simply wait for the next line up because they will have to give a good response and maybe something like Skylake-E or Kaby Lake-E can come along, those will sure be a better deal than the current Broadwell-E overpriced thing going on.

while it doesn't do bad - in fact the 1800x did pretty good, it's still not as good as the 7700k - if you just want to push frames get the 7700k - if you want gaming and production get the 1800x or the 6800k

will a combination of R7 1700x and gtx1070 word perfectly for after effects? there are mentions of compatibility of AE on intel processors.

XEONs are expensive right?

You make me want to gag :) . These Xeons will whoop your buns anyday.

AMD is useless to me anyways at this point, laptops are my thing and will probably always be so. Although I wish they would high tail it with a ryzen 5 and rx 580 laptop :D

Hah, properly cooling an AMD product at ANY form factor is impossible, forget mobile.

Not if you get 2699's or something a few gens back. I always buy used.

I love your picture and I think I'm one of the few to recognize it. Sharkman Frank. Also I believe that I ryzen 5 laptop would be plausible if they binned they chips well, AMD has come a long way in terms of power consumption.

I dont get what you mean by this. I also prefer gaming in 1080p with the build.
