Monitor temperature?

SuperFlower

I have a 29 inch ultrawide LG monitor and today i noticed when i touched it that it is a little warm. I'm talking about the side with the lg logo that is in the middle.

Is this normal? Do monitors get warm?

I use it with 50% brightness.

I have never touched my monitor for warmth... Is it maybe just warm in your house?

I must say that it is not hot (that you can not touch it). Is it just warm, especially the zone where the lg logo is.

well, depending on the size, resolution, and brightness, LCD displays (wether they are TN or IPS, and LED backlit or not) can happily pull up to arount the 100 watt range.

and whatever of that isnt transmitted as light hitting your face or the wall behind you, is turned into heat.

PS: if anyone tries to tell me that power is used to "process" things, dont bother, go look up how conservation of energy works instead.

Anything that uses electricity will lose part of its energy in the way of heat, it is normal, I have the same monitor you do and when it is on for extended period of time it does get little warm but it does no difference to its performance.
