Big youtubers boycotting comments

I have seen that a few big youtubers, including PewDiePie and NerdCubed have disabled the youtube comments. I think whilst all this petitioning will do sod all, big youtubers boycotting them might do something.

Big youtubers often dont even have a contact in google, so a few big ones doing it wont make a difference, now if all the top channels do it then it might have an impact but then again, things like this happened for all the previous yt changes, nothing reverted did it?

Even though they may not have contracts with google, the most subscribed guy on youtube turning them off and shitting all over them is going to turn some heads.

But you need to remember google is trying to make google+ a thing for a long time now, merging that with youtube will greatly increase the user base, and that is that they want. From a business point of view, its something they should have done months ago

I just wish linus would make a home page here with his video's so i dont have to deal with youtube's crap, it would also help with the videos that havnt been appearing in the sub box

I'm turning off comments on all videos after this one until further notice. The sheer abuse of this section is now dangerous. Links are getting through and I don't have the time to maintain and moderate the comments. Discussion has gone from childishness to outright direct abuse. Forcing real names only makes people using them vulnerable to those with fake ones. The abuse is still here but it lingers at the top of the page now. 

Fun fact: to turn the comments off on my other channels I have to create a google+ account. The comments AND SETTINGS are entirely controlled by Google+. 

Funner fact: You can post comments on private videos using YouTube (with no G+ account) and they show when the video goes public. It's the same system. It hasn't moved. These lock-offs are forced. It's the equivalent of ransomware. 

Discussion can still be had. The Nerd³ subreddit is moderated and a good place to talk. Twitter is good for short discussion too.  

I still love you guys, gals, everything in between and either side but right now this section is poison.

I serioulsy dislike all this google + integration. I used to be a hardcore YouTuber with a partnership and everything. If my channel was still up and running today I would be doing the same thing

More comments can make videos show up higher in search results so they provide more views which would provide more revenue based on views.

Never mind, it seems to have changed. What happened to the system they were supposed to roll out where all replies were listed underneath the comment that you replied to? It just showed three replies and then you could expand to see all of the replies to that particular comment. This new system is horrible to navigate.
