Hello,

I reside in the UK and my gaming chair broke in half last night - and I need a new one.

I don't know of any good gaming chair companies or such, as I (until now) have usually gone for the first one that catches my eye when I go gaming chair shopping. However, I would like to buy a more reputable chair this time.

Can anyone suggest any good gaming chairs (preferably from amazon.co.uk)? Price is not a problem, but I would prefer to buy a chair under £160 in cost.

Thanks for the help. :)

In this thread will be a guy saying a cheap office chair is good because that's what he uses. A guy saying DXRacer is amazing because it's specifically for gaming, then a guy saying DXRacer has bad build quality (his friend's chair broke) and that he should get a high end office chair instead.

my vote is for a half decent office chair. Spend a bit more and it'll last MUCH longer

The only good 'gaming chair' maker I have come across is Noble Chairs, but these barely fall in the game category. Really, for 160 GBP you're not getting any (good) gaming chair. You're better off getting a decent chair from some office supplies store.

Look online at some reviews, than check the chairs out in store so you know how comfortable (or not) they are.

Pick up an old Merc, or BMW for about 10 quid. Take out the driver seat. Scrap the rest of the car.

Look at office chairs. You're bound to pay a lot more for a "gaming" chair because of the marketing.

Honestly, there's no way to recommend a chair to you because we have no idea what is comfortable for you. What may be good for me may not be good for you and vice versa (eg. I'm tall, so I like having a very high back to my chairs, but that may not apply to you).

Only way to really find a good chair is to go to a store that has a selection and sit in them.

@Oshino Shinobu nailed it. It's just like key switches, you have to go try it out for yourself because everyone's personal preferences are different.

Hahaha, funny, but exactly on point. Plus the mark up on those chairs is ridiculous. Been tempted to order in a container of them myself and sell them on the Canadian Amazon site.

Totally agree with your vote as well. I've sat in "gamer" chairs. They paled in comparison to the office chair I got on sale for $75 CDN from Staples.

I bought something just like this. Its just a no name brand Race Style chair for about $100 US. Honestly I am happy with it and I feel its a better value. $300+ for me is a little much to spend on a gaming chair, but thats just personal preference.

Don't get a "gaming chair", it's one of those things that are priced higher just for being "gaming" without really doing much extra (I mean, it's a chair).

Also avoid cheapo office chairs, they seem okay to start with but they quickly end up creaking and groaning and sinking and the foam padding quickly vanishes.

Your best bet, aside from some sick Herman Miller contraption ($$$$) is a nice, comfy office chair that costs a bit more but will actually last you a while. If you're on the forum, you probably game a lot or work at your desk (I'm at mine 9 hours a day) so it's worth getting something a bit nicer if you're spending lots of time on it.

In general, it's the same idea as a bed. You spend half your life in it, it's worth splashing out a bit.

Mesh chairs are awesome if you're sitting in the for ages, the breathe well and don't lose their softness;
