Is it just me or do other people do this?

RileyTheFox

To be honest, this is kind of stupid. However I think it's funny and I'd like to know if anyone else does this.

Basically, whenever my PC BSODs, I just jump out of my chair, throw my headphones off (because the constant last note of sound is terrifying) and run out of the room. I don't know why, but I hate it when my PC BSODs. 75% of the time they're harmless but I always just panic and think my system will be completely did. What makes this even weirder is the fact that if it's not MY computer that crashes, I couldn't give a damn. Maybe I'm scared of losing all my data or my only machine for gaming just dying :D

This next one is absolutely bizarre. When I initially turn my PC on after the night or something I refuse to turn my monitors on and watch the PC POST. I always make myself wait like 45 seconds until Windows has booted up. Even then I don't turn the monitors on until I've entered my pass code and I'm at the desktop.

Now this next one is somewhat reasonable. I hate going to the UEFI BIOS to edit a setting. I know that the BIOS can easily be reset by removing the battery for a few minutes if something goes wrong with a setting. But you just get that, that feel that anything could go wrong xD

imo this thread was pointless but I made it anyways

No I've never done that

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I just put it to completely caring for my PC. I don't have the money and time to fix stuff if something breaks so I always hate it when something happens,

Not that I've gone into the bios much since I don't have a reason to but any time I have done anything in the bios I've gotten very nervous that I'll mess something up.  ?

It's just you.

My PC is stable, it doesn't BSOD, except for that one time Windows f'ed up an update, but I dealt with it calmly, by restoring from a backup I had made 2 days prior.

No, never done that. But your system should NOT BSOD. When a BSOD happen, it means that there is an error that Windows cannot handle or recover.

This usually means a serious driver crashed, where Windows could not restart it (really bad crash, or faulty hardware), or some hardware in the system is faulty, and needs to be replaced (see if you warranty is still valid for warranty replacement).

OCD usually requires a repetitious behavior occurring multiple times in a short span. Point two may indicate OCD, but the other two don't.

My diagnosis (I'm a vet, not a psychologist (psychiatrists suck anyway)) would likely be an anxiety disorder. He anticipates an event (the lock screen) before continuing by turning the monitors on, doesn't want to change the BIOS settings due to the forethought of misusing a value, and suffers mentally at the thought of a BSOD.

When you do a backup what do you use to make it?

I don't do any kind of backups and it occurs to me that's not good...  ?

Nope. I was going to high school (Computer Club) and liked programming in C+ and C# (Java was my favorite though), but I was more in love with biology and chemistry than programming.

Well BSOD's scare the crap out of me because they appear at the most unexpected moments.

I don't freak out but i have to say it sometimes get stupidly close to it...

And the thing is, i KNOW i get them, rarely, like once a month, so i know there is always one lurking in the dark but i never know when it will leap out and attack me :(

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Hell... No...

I like birds and turtles, but that's as far as I go with scales. Mostly b/c I don't have the certification and knowledge for it. I am currently going back to Tampa for my exotics certification (chinchillas, degus, parrots, etc.).
