Ok this is a rant

 

I have centurylink bc im in a rual area

BUT they charge my family $30 for almost .50Mb/s

DAMNIT

When i run a speed test it barely get 1mb/s

i have to watch videos in 1980s VHS tapes dumped in shit

i cant download ANYTHING
it takes 30 minutes to download a 2MB file

i cant play an online game without LAG like ALOT OF LAG
i cant download anything over 1GB unless wating 3 fucking hours

netflix is literally impossible

web pages take 10 seconds to load 

when i have to WATCH THE GREY AREA WHEN WATCHING A YOUTUBE VIDEO OVER 144p

i usually 0.70Mb/s

I HATE THEM SO MUCH BUT WE CANT UPGRADE
I WANT TO FUCKING GO TO THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING AND FUCKING DO A DOLPHIN DIVE ONTO THE PAVEMENT

AMEN BROTHER. I am in the same boat. I get 750Kb/s for $110 a month the funniest part is I have fiber but they won't allow me faster speeds because "we wouldn't use them". They also throttle you to death on youtube, netflix and so on. I use my own VPN and things load years faster. My ping is usually 60ms-80ms which is fine for games but as soon as another user joins the network my ping is in the hundreds usually 600ms+. Once I got it up to 5,340ms and I just sat there and stared out a window. It has been like this for years now and we got upgraded from 56Kb/s dial up in 2010. I don't think people realize how many Americans DON'T have internet or DON'T have broadband. Which legally in some states you have to have but we don't.... I hate them too but there is no other ISP in the area.

Yeah, I have heard of the horror stories of having CenturyLink.

 

Me, I'm stuck with satellite.  CenturyLink and Comcast won't bother with this area at all.  I have the lovely 750+ms pings with a 20GB cap all for the price of 90 bucks.  The only other choice is dail-up out here.

Centurylink are pretty ass. Use them here because Cox cable doesn't service this part of town and their prices are so much nicer. Been considering Comcast because at least with their shitty reputation, they at least are capable of usable service.

They're only shitty if you're not trying to DOX someone. If you attempt to dox someone, it's easy as fucking pie with Comcast; I've literally seen them hand over dozens of client's private information; home address, cc numbers, full names, etc. to one guy in the span of 10 minutes...
