More ram or faster ram for game engines

Go to solution Solved by LabRat,

there's a small jump between 2400 and 3000........ so what. for what you're doing quantity matters most. 2400 is fine anyways.

Hello

Ram type - ddr4 ;

Processor - i7 6800k ;

Mobo- asus strix x99 ;

Monitor - 2*1080p

how much ram should i go for

I want 32gb but can afford 2400mhz ones

So it faster ram is more helpful then will go for 16gb 3200mhz

16gb of ram is good enough for game development, on every engine I have used.

I would say more ram.. What are you implying? Are you asking about gaming in general or using the engine example (unreal 4) for editing purpose?  If it was editing the more ram the better.. Gaming in general it really doesn't matter 16gigs of ram in general will be Korea then enough.. SPEED is nice but not needed really in gaming!  Ddr3 is fine.. Pick up Ddr4 2400 if this is the case
